Canada
Canada is a vast and diverse country, spanning more than half the Northern Hemisphere from north to south and stretching nearly 4,700 miles (7,560 kilometers) across six time zones from east to west. Despite being the second-largest country in the world, it is home to only about 0.5% of the global population.
The landscape of Canada is incredibly varied, featuring deep blue lakes, numerous rivers, majestic mountains in the west, rolling plains in the center, and forested valleys in the east. The Canadian Shield, a region of ancient rocks, lakes, and swamps, extends across northern Canada and is among the oldest geological formations on Earth.
In the far north, the Arctic region is dominated by ice, snow, and glaciers, creating a harsh but beautiful environment. This area supports few trees and is unsuitable for traditional farming. The indigenous peoples of this region, known as First Nations, sustain themselves through hunting and fishing, preserving their traditional way of life amidst the challenging climate.
